Plantation shutters can be used anywhere in your home. They are great for
privacy and room darkening for bedrooms, for elegance and beauty for living and dining rooms, for practical usage in bathrooms, as they can easily be cleaned/wiped down after your guests leave, and for the family room to
control glare and sunlight; whether watching our Philly sports teams or our favorite college teams, a good movie or just relaxing with a good book on a weekend afternoon.
Plantation Shutters are not just timeless, but are also
extremely versatile in how they can be used and operated. You have the option of having them
with or without the center tilt rod and you can have the option of being
able to open the top half separate from the bottom half
(this is a great feature for bathrooms). In addition, shutters can go up to 36" wide per shutter panel in composite or vinyl or wood. Louver sizes range from 1 3/4", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2" and, even up to, 4 1/2" so there is a size for everyone. The most common louver size anymore is 3" or 3 1/2".
Selections include both
full window coverings or as partial window coverings (café style shutters) and are available as either
wood shutters or composite shutters. They also can be made for French doors, where the door lever extends into the glass for what's called a 'French door cut-out shutter.'
We are your local plantation shutter experts here at the Jersey Shore and we would love to show you what a plantation shutter would look like in your windows. Keep in mind, we don't just bring a small-hand sample for your in-home consultation. Rather,
we bring a full-size panel
to place in your window. In doing so, you really can envision what the finished product will look like!
